We provide a range of ESOL services customized for professional development needs and goals.

An innovative, in-person adult education course, offered on term schedule. Classes in English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) follow an English language curriculum specifically designed for adult learners.

The program entails:

  • 2 classes per week, 90-minute classes.

  • 24 sessions over a 3-month semester.

  • Assessments of learners’ language levels.

  • Delivery of adult ESOL curriculum to develop speaking, listening, reading and writing.

  • Customization of language tools and content to meet learners’ and organization’s needs and goals.

  • Regular meetings with workplace administrators to collaborate on successful outcomes.

  • Written progress reports at the mid-term and end-of-term.

Targeted Support

Targeted Support offers individual or small group skill building with the goal of addressing specific learning needs, preparation for apprenticeship training, or other advancement steps.

This service entails:

  • Hourly in-person sessions held weekly or bi-weekly.

  • Online sessions available if needed.

  • Areas of focus include: CASAS preparation, certification preparation, digital literacy and other skills needed for specialized training programs or development pathways.

Intensive Immersion Sessions

Focused language development training customized to employee and employer needs, goals, and pathways.

This service entails:

  • One professional development day or one week of evening classes.

  • Possibilities include: preparation for a pre-CNA course, MA licensure exam, CASAS test preparation, customer service training, computer/digital literacy, or other job-based training.

  • Collaboration with other apprenticeship or training programs and instructors on the design and delivery of instructional needs.

ESOL Consulting for Employers

We provide supervisors, managers, and department heads with best practices for cultural competency and effective communication with employees.

This service entails:

  • Reviewing and recommending revisions to workplace communications, such as employee handbooks, safety policies, job expectations, or other materials.

  • Guiding supervisors and managers on awareness of inaccessible language practices and the tools to implement to navigate and remove language barriers.

  • Providing on-site or online review and recommendations for improved workplace routines and enhanced workplace experiences and outcomes.

  • Completing audits of employers’ language requirements for new positions.
